Haley + Anthony

A Cooper’s Landing Wedding – Clarksville, Virginia

Haley and Anthony were married on June 16th, 2018 at one of the sweetest little bed and breakfast venues in Clarksville, Virginia called Cooper’s Landing (get’s extra points because my dog’s name is COOPER, haha)!

It’s kind of crazy to think these two are MARRIED now!!! I mean, I feel like I have known them forever, but in reality, I haven’t known them but so long. Funny, the first time I met them in real life was when Haley and Anthony decided to take their bride and groom portraits (you can find those here) BEFORE the wedding! That’s right! You read that correctly, and y’all…it was the FIRST time I had ever done something like that, and now I am just totally in love with the idea! SO much fun!

Of course taking photos of them before the wedding was more or less a measure to have more photos (YASSSSS), but mostly *just* incase the weather wasn’t our friend on the big day itself. Well, I can say with all the smiles over here, that Haley and Anthony had SUCH a beautiful day. FILLED with gorgeous weather (a little hot, but not unbearable), their very closest family and friends, and so much sweet happiness and laughter. I have to tell you after having a very small wedding myself, this day reminded me so much of Robert and I’s and that just makes my heart SO warm!

Haley and Anthony, thank you so much for including me as a part of your big day. It has truly been a pleasure getting to know you both, but I am SUPER bummed that you live sooooo far away! Haha! Anyway, in the words of your dad, Haley, DILLY DILLY!!!

Their Love Story

When and where did you both meet?

We met at Chumley’s Bar at Ohio State in November of 2013. It was rivalry week for college football and we met up with mutual friends at the bar to watch some of the games. We immediately hit it off talking about football and our favorite teams. Thank you Ohio State for putting the two of us together!!

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

I think we both pretty much knew we were the one from the night we met. We instantly had a special connection and bonded over football. The night we met, we made each other a promise that I would be a Browns fan and he would be a Hokie fan. I think that was our way of hinting to each other that we had found the one (yes we are crazy football fans)! From day one we joked that we were the “dream team” and that still holds true today.

What is the one thing you both love each other the most for?

Haley: Anthony is one of the sweetest guys I have ever known. He goes out of his way to make me feel important and loved. He also pushes and supports me to pursue my dreams, even if it means moving away from him and creating a long distance engagement (haha). He knows how to make me laugh, will be goofy and spontaneous with me, and puts up with me while watching Hokie football no matter how crazy I get. Anthony is truly such a special guy and I am so lucky to be able to call him mine.

Anthony: I love everything about her. She’s the nicest person I’ve ever met. She’s ambitious and hard working and has dedicated her life to helping kids. She pushes me to chase my dreams and won’t hesitate to make a sacrifices to help me. She’s a dog lover and football fan and we always have fun together no matter what we’re doing. She’s my best friend and I wouldn’t be me without her.

How did he propose?

Anthony completed surprised me and proposed on April Fool’s Day haha! He took me to my favorite 32 room bookstore in the quaint German Village of Columbus, OH. (Yes we are nerds.) We spent hours roaming around, exploring all the rooms and the millions of books. Then right after we checked out and were walking out of the bookstore, Anthony said “I got you a surprise book”. I was so confused, but reached into the bag of books and grabbed a plain red book that I did not remember seeing Anthony pick out. When I opened it, there was a beautiful ring tied to a string and the book read “Our story hasn’t been written yet. Will you write it with me?” I was so shocked but beyond happy! I could not wait to spend forever with him!!
