Ashley + Lyle

A Prizery Wedding Celebration – South Boston, Virginia

Ashley and Lyle were married on May 12th, 2018 at Main Street United Methodist Church, followed by a wedding celebration at the Prizery in South Boston, Virginia.

During their engagement session (you can find that here), I knew two things. The first thing is I learned Ashley has impeccable style, so I knew going into their wedding day, their would be ton of gorgeous details and styling. Especially since she picked my FAV color, dusty blue, as her bridesmaids dress color AND worked magic along side her stylist/planner Amanda Day Rose. OH, it was GORGEOUS y’all!!! So many fun little details, and just pure gorgeousness. Just wait until you scroll some more!

The second thing, and the best thing, is the chemistry these two have! If you saw their engagement blog post, then you know that I knew Ashley pretty well, but I had never met Lyle. Let me tell you, these two make each other belly laugh and it is just the BEST! I literally am smiling just thinking about how happy these two make each other. I think it’s PRETTY obvious in all of their photos too. I just can’t!

I am SO happy for you guys!!!! CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!!!

Their Love Story

When and where did you both meet?

Close to five years ago. I was working at the coffee shop in our home town and he came in. After that we ended up handing out with mutual friends getting to know one another better.

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

Ashley: We had been together for only a few weeks and I went on a mission trip. While I was gone I realized hat we had something special and I couldn’t wait to get home to see him again.

Lyle: I had surgery on my knee during Ashley’s spring break in grad school. That week she sacrificed her whole spring break to help and take care of me.

What is the one thing you both love each other the most for?

Ashley: I love his smile, laugh and fun-loving personality. I love his ability to put his whole heart into whatever he does. He has always been supportive of me in my education and career even while I was stressed. It just means a lot to know you have someone that is going to stay by your side through the good and tough times.

Lyle: Her beautiful eyes, infectious smile and big heart.

How did he propose?

We were on a trip to the Biltmore in Asheville and he told me that he wanted to go for a walk because there was a waterfall past the gardens. As we started walking I began complaining about the walk and telling him I wanted to turn around however with a lot of encouragement (from him) we kept walking. Once we made it to the waterfall I was trying to take a selfie of us in front of the view. My phone was cracked and terrible so he told me to sit my things down and we’d take one on his. Once I turned around he was on one knee proposing to me!
