A Berry Hill Mansion Wedding

These two were married on October 9th, 2016 at the gorgeous Berry Hill Mansion in Halifax, Virginia.

Catherine and Mark came to here to get married all the way from their home in California! You may be asking, what brought them here? Well, Catherine is actually a Halifax County native! It just so happened the place she wanted to get married at was here too. That place being Berry Hill Mansion. You just can’t go wrong with this wedding venue.

During Catherine and Mark’s engagement session (you can find that here) we had quite a few laughs together. They really shine when they are around one another and it’s possible that it’s one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. I knew on their wedding day that those feelings would be on a new level of happiness. I was right!

Catherine and Amanda Day Rose worked so hard together to make sure every little detail was taken care of. From each table with gorgeous magnolia leaf centerpieces, to the ceremony site with while rose petals lining the walk way. It was GORGEOUS you guys!!! And there is nothing I love more than a classic wedding with such classic color theme.

When and where did you both meet?

We met for coffee at Starbucks after swapping a few messages online. He had recently moved to the area after starting a new job. She was a couple of minutes late (two!) and he hasn’t let her forget it since.

When did you know he was the one and vice versa?

Catherine: When did I know that Mark was the one? There wasn’t a single moment, but more of a realization over time that we have the same values and priorities, and we just have a good time together.

Mark: There was not a specific moment in time when I knew Catherine was the one … I just knew. She became everything that mattered to me. She became my primary focus (other than my faith) and my sole desire became making her happy and spending as much time with her as possible. It wasn’t something that had to be forced. It was genuine and real. She quickly became my best friend and I couldn’t imagine spending this life with anyone but her.

What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?

How about two things… She loves his patience and sense of humor and he loves her drive and loving spirit.

How did he propose?

We were on a cruise and visited the Mayan ruins at Tulum, Mexico. We were overlooking the ocean and he said how he wanted to travel the world together, then he dropped to one knee and proposed. She said, “Really?!” (as in wow, we are really doing this now) …. then she said yes.
