A Falkland Farms Wedding
Emily and Blake were married on June 17th, 2017 and their Falkland Farms wedding was all kinds of beautiful. Not to mention, just as southern as my little heart loves to eat up!
I always say how CRAZY it is that time just goes by so fast with my sweet couples. Why? Because guys it REALLY does!!! I swear, it goes from the emailing back and forth, to the we were JUST taking their engagement photos yesterday (you can find those here.) Then, before we knew it we were taking Emily’s bridal portraits (you can find those here) and now she’s a MARRIED WOMAN!!! AHHHHH!!!
As I walked in to Emily and Blake’s wedding day, we knew their was going to be so much fun happening that day. Her and her ladies had the CUTEST monogramed robes, and they were filled with all the giggles. Which, y’all know I love! Crazy enough, just about an hour before the ceremony (while we were doing the first look in the POURING RAIN) a BAD storm rolled through. We rocked all of their first look on the front porch (that porch is literally life y’all and saved our butts) and did all of the portraits we could there after. While, the nerves were setting in about the storm, if that wasn’t already bad enough, the POWER WENT OUT YOU GUYS!!! I repeat, about an HOUR before the ceremony the power WENT OUT. Thankfully friend’s and family came to the rescue with big ol’ power generators and made all the magic happen. The clouds broke, and they had a WEDDING!!!
I told Emily and will tell her and Blake over and over and over, that when stuff like that happens, it TRULY all is in the way you handle it that propels you forward in the odds of enjoying your day or not. That’s exactly what they did and God gave us QUITE the gorgeous sunset at the very end of the day. They are married and life is just so good!
When and where did you both meet?
We met the summer of 2014. I was working for my dad and Blake was working for the post office. I had to go in the post office everyday. I sent him a message and we hit it off immediately.
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
Emily: We had been talking back forth for a little bit and decided to go out one night. Blake opened my door for me to get in the truck. I absolutely loved that and I knew then he was the one.
Blake: I knew she was the one when my family didn’t scare her off, haha!
What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?
Emily: What I love most about Blake is that he keeps me grounded and clam and he is a great handy-man. He always knows how to fix everything.
Blake: What I love the most about Emily is she is caring and always keeps me laughing.
We were on the way to meet our friends to go out to dinner. We hadn’t pulled out the driveway yet and he stopped and pulled the ring out the center console and asked me to marry him. I was speechless and kept asking him was this for real. Of course he was!
