The Aviary Wedding
Megan and Jeff were married on September 30th, 2017 and had their ceremony at the Aviary, followed by their reception at Timberlake Tavern both in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Guys, it literally feels like just yesterday that I met these two for the first time. I just finished cleaning the house, because I knew they would be arriving any minute to meet for the first time. They knocked on the door and BOOM, like two hours later we were still chit chatting about ALL THE THINGS we had in common! From tv shows, to them being from New Jersey (that’s where my parents are from), to them having family in my home town! I mean, seriously how cool?! Not to mention they ROCKED their engagement session (you can find that here) like no other! And if that isn’t cool enough, they actually picked their WEDDING DATE around my schedule!!! I am not even kidding!!! Gave me ALL THE FEELS!
Speaking of feels, moving on to their wedding day itself. These two were both some kind of nervous, but mostly full of pure excitement! As the day unfolded those feelings ramped up even more as the ceremony began. Megan’s sweet grandmother sitting in the front row (this was a very BIG deal you guys.) All eyes were on Megan as everyone stood up as she walked down the aisle with her father in her OH SO GORGEOUS dress (I mean, that beading on the back *SWOOON*). As she turned the corner, Jeff stood up with tears coming to his eyes. They exchanged rings, with their son being the most handsome ring bearer. Before we knew it, these two were married and Jeff and Megan were walked back down the aisle hand in hand, and one fist pump from Jeff in the air!
Their Love Story
When and where did you both meet?
The Clinton, NJ Verizon Wireless store.
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
She knew before he did, that’s for sure. He knew after they hosted their first Thanksgiving together.
What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?
He loves her passion for the things she loves. She loves him because he took on her son, Braden, as his own.
How did he propose?
This is a great story, and is so Jeff if you ever meet him. So, we had been in a pretty big fight before that night, but we were starting to come around. Two days earlier, he messed up his car, and had to get a rental. I called him on his way home from work to pick up food for me. He should have been home about an hour after I called, but I heard nothing. Eventually, I started wondering where he was, so I called him. When I asked where he was, he told me to come downstairs. I had pajamas on and my hair in a messy bun, so I was in some short of shape. I threw on my coat and met him downstairs in our building’s lobby/foyer. I started yelling at him to tell me what was going on because I thought that he had busted the rental car and we were going to have to deal with that mess. But he just kept laughing at me, which just made me even more angry! When he finally was able to stop laughing, he asked to say something. He asked me if I remembered the conversation we had where I asked him if he was going to fight for his girlfriend. I said yeah and then he goes, “Well, I don’t want to fight for my girlfriend. I want to fight for my wife.” He then got down on one knee the took out the ring and asked me to marry him. At that point, his friend Anthony popped out around the corner and started snapping pictures! I said yes (or else this story it pointless), and after we called our families and such, they proceeded to tell me that Jeff was home when he was supposed to be, but they were figuring out how to make this work. And yes, I did get my food.
