A Backyard Wedding at Strange Farms
They were married on October 8th, 2016 and guys…these two said their vows at their backyard wedding during a HURRICANE!!! No joke!
Let me start off by saying Mayghan and Cory literally are some of the calmest and laid back people I have ever met in my entire life. When we did their engagement session (you can find that here) they brought their sweet pup Axel along. Who was very much still a puppy at the time. I always think to myself that people who are huge dog lovers are my kind of people. There’s a special love and patience when it comes to taking care of a dog you guys. These two…and their pup Axel…oh man! I just LOVE them!!!
The day started off not as planned. I told Mayghan it was okay because I didn’t have a plan either. I had a timeline, don’t get me wrong. I knew the ins and outs of the day, but I did not have a PLAN for photo locations in general, because….HELLO HURRICANE! Haha! I bet if you’re reading this you think I am a crazy person, but the first thing I told Mayghan when I arrived at Springfield Distillery, the GORGEOUS cabin they got ready at, I told Mayghan that we were just going to trust God and have fun. No stressing! We were going to get the photos we needed to get and work together to get them even in the pouring rain. Thankfully Cory and Mayghan also did not care WHAT SO EVER about taking portraits in the rain either. So you know as a photographer I LOVED that!
After the day finished up as the wind and rain blew all around, Mayghan and Cory were married. Maybe not under the beautiful alter they built and with the GORGEOUS family farm sunset in the background – that is the whole reason they wanted to be married on the family land, which they still did minus those things. But they were married. They were happy. And they made the most of a bad situation. As you’re scrolling through these photos you’ll notice the smiles never once disappeared from their faces. Again, they were married and they were happy y’all.
Now, when you get to the end of those post you will see that Mayghan and Cory found it fit to through their wedding day attire once again. I mean, why not? They owned everything already and the sunsets on the family farm never disappoint. Also, for those who are wondering, yes, Mayghan’s dress is a slight shade of magenta. Isn’t it lovely?! We also included a special guest too! You guessed it, AXEL!!!!
