A Wild Horse Outer Banks Wedding
Taylor and her man Jay were married on June 3rd, 2016 and had quite the gorgeous Wild Horse Outer Banks Wedding.
Oh, you guys. I can’t begin to tell you the love I have for these two. I’ve known Taylor now since I was in 11th grade in high school. We both ended up working at the same restaurant here locally for a while and then parted ways. That was until we came back together working at a different restaurant (the amazing Molasses Grill for anyone who is wondering) and have known one another ever since! It’s funny, because in between my transitioning out of the restaurant to focus on my business, I noticed Taylor and Jay were getting pretty serious. We ALL loved them together. I mean, God hand PICKED these two for each other. I remember asking her on I believe what was my last night of work there the question I am sure a lot of people were asking “When the HECK are you two getting married?!” Well you guys, literally the NEXT DAY Jay proposed!!! Taylor texted me a picture of the ring and I called her immediately. We freaked out! It was AMAZING. OH!!!! Ok, enough about how we met and on to the better part of this post.
Taylor had quite the vision for her beach wedding she had dreamed of since she was little. With the incredibly talented team of vendors, family, and friends they had collaborating on their wedding day, their day came together OH SO beautifully. Including DIY stuff by the BRIDE AND GROOM themselves! I mean, is that not amazing? Jay built the arbor they were married at. Taylor did endless amounts of little sign making, hanger names, and so so much more.
You guys should know that Taylor and Jay share a love that sets such an example to the younger generation that is today. They hold themselves to a strong set of morals and values. When people are around them, you just feel happy. It’s quite the honor to have been asked to photograph their big day, because I knew it would be nothing short of amazing.
When and where did you both meet?
My friend (and bridesmaid) Anne thought that Jay and I would make a good couple for a long time. When Anne finally got the chance to get the us together at a cookout out a friends house, the rest became history.
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
We knew when we could not imagine my life without one another. Anytime we thought about the future, it was always thinking about it together. It was never one big thing that made us realize, but rather all of the small things that added up to what we have together today.
What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?
Taylor: What I love about Jay the most is that he is the most selfless man I know. He always puts others before himself including myself. For that, I just knew he was the one for me.
Jay: I knew Taylor was the one when I realized she was the nicest person I have come to know and learn. She has a heart of gold and shares that with everyone around her.
How did he propose?
Jay built me a vanity. On a Sunday last February he finished it and wanted me to come take a look at it in his shop. He had just put on the drawer so I asked if I could open it, to which he replied yes. Inside he had put the ring box with the ring in it! I was in complete shock and of course started crying
Taylor and Jay along with their family and friends stayed here alllllll week – DREAM!
