Meet Crissy and Jason Stolzenthaler (isn’t that a FUN last name!?)
Crissy and Jason had their Terrace View by the James Wedding in Lynchburg, Virginia on August 22nd, 2015.
WOW…where do I even begin with these two? I’ve had the extreme pleasure of doing their engagement portraits (here), Crissy’s bridal portraits (here) and now their WEDDING!!! Crissy had quite the vision from the start of her wedding planning. When she started mentioning gold, teal, and peach…you KNOW I was ALL EARS!!! Seeing her vision come to life in these photos was quite the treat! I tell you she has EVERY DETAIL planned!
I am so so so happy for these two. Seeing them get married was…so precious to me as I am sure was to a lot of people. Their willingness to grow in their love and relationship has been something admired by many. So, to see them stand up at the alter on their wedding day…breathtaking.
Enjoy!!!
Special shout out to my girl Casey for second shooting this with me!!!
When and where did you both meet?
They met in December of 2006 while Jason was still living in New Jersey and often made trips to Halifax where they met through mutual friends. Before they knew it, they were dating.
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
Jason
About two months after we made our dating official, I knew I couldn’t live without her. We had so much fun together. There was plenty of laughter, love and excitement. I just knew I found my best friend. She was it. She was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
Crissy
There was never a moment when it dawned on me he was the one… It’s just something I have ALWAYS known!
What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?
Jason
Her smile.
Crissy
how he can always make me laugh even when I don’t want to.
How did he propose?
Since Jason is terrible at surprises and I absolutely LOVE surprises – I couldn’t believe how great he did with the proposal. The ring he had been waiting for finally arrived (of course he’d ruin it if he didn’t give it to me the same day.) Unknown to me he left work early to go pick it up and try to rush back home before I got home from work (I was only suppose to work half a day but ended up working a couple extra hours that he wasn’t aware of.) I had a feeling something was up since he was constantly texting – asking what I was doing, when I was leaving, what I was doing after work, etc. but getting engaged never crossed my mind. Obviously it was something we have been talking about for years….so why would I think today would be the day? When I finally came home (after making a couple of stops after work) I saw his work car in the driveway. A little surprised, but it hadn’t been unusual for him to get off early time to time. I came in through the back door to music playing (still oblivious to what was actually happening.) The first thing I see is my big lab Roxy wearing a shirt (laughing at how silly she looked wondering what the heck did he do to my dog.) Then, here comes our sweet little morkie (Milo) running up to me also wearing a shirt (thinking how sweet/funny Jason found them shirts from some cool guy store, he’s a little addicted to online shopping.) Jason is walking up to me right behind Milo with the biggest smile on his face (I literally have not had a chance to step away from the door) I pick Milo up to see where this shirt came from, I can only see a slight ‘marry’ immediately start balling as Jason stands there. (I still don’t see the ring) he then takes the ring off of Milo’s collar (cannot believe I didn’t see it) gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him! Seriously the happiest moment of my life and even better, the biggest surprise of my life (I was so proud of him.)
